How mesothelioma occurs
Mesothelioma develops for years. In fact, you may have been exposed to asbestos for over 40 years without developing and showing any symptoms. Most of the people who are over 50 – 60 years old, are among us without knowing even if they have the disease.
Mesothelioma is a malignant tumor caused by asbestos exposure. The structure surrounding the lungs called the pleura, or similar structures surrounding the peritoneal cavity, the peritoneum or the heart, are a tumor that can form a pericardium and it results in a rare type of malignancy that is called the tunica vaginalis.
Mesothelioma is the result of a cell mutation that causes the malignant cell to grow. The tumor grows in patterns which spreads out and spreads around the pouch surrounding the organ, like the pleura surrounding the lungs. This tumor is not in the form of a tuber or "tennis ball" formed the tumor. Malignant mesotheliomas cause severe symptoms such as pain in the chest or shortness of breading.
